"When your arms around me felt like home, I knew I had found a treasure."
Genevieve woke up early the next day, the sun was only rising on the horizon. Opening her eyes slowly, she yawned and stretched her body. Small mewls left her mouth, and her eyes surveying her surroundings at the same time.
The room she was in was ginormous, but plain at the same time.
It was her husbands room. And now, judging by how she woke up here, her room too.
'It was so black and white and so black.' she thought, the colors not appeasing her. The room was beautiful of course, but the colors were making it dull in the eyes. Well, for her.
'Maybe these were Mr. Alvaro's favorite colors.' she convinced herself, but adding on a shake of her head with a 'No, it's just Alvaro.'
She continued to look around her until she felt the need to pee. Going straight to the also ginormous bathroom, she finished her business and washed her hands and face.
Looking into the mirror, she smiled to herself and nodded once. She was now ready for the day.
Planning to change her clothes first before going for breakfast, she looked around at the walk-in-closet and found her clothes already organized.
There were a few new clothes, too. Did her husband buy all of these for her?
Genevieve swooned at the thought. It might not be obvious, but her husband was so sweet and nice. Except for the furrow in his brows and his frown, that does not look nice at all.
'He should learn how to smile more'
Changing into another day dress, Genevieve left the room and looked around.
Just like the room she was in, the hallways and interior of the house was also painted by only three colors. Grey, black, and white. There were also only a few furniture scattered around. It was so simple and beautiful.
But she couldn't stop the thought running in her mind. Would Alvaro allow her to add a few splashes of colors around the house?
Genevieve's hands caressed the walls she was passing. She already passed three other bedroom, with bathrooms inside them. On the first floor was a bar full of liquor with a billiard table, a gym, the dining, kitchen and living space.
Everything was so big in her eyes.
This wasn't like anything at her former home. This home was big and expensive looking, but somehow, it didn't feel warm at all. Unlike their barn at the outskirts, which was warm and cozy.
She knew this was a home, but it didn't really feel like it.
Now, she was determined to ask her husband for permission to add things here and there. She'll even make him cake with cherries on top for extra effort.
Feeling her hunger surfacing, Genevieve prepared for breakfast at the kitchen. 'Til now, she saw no sign of her husband. It was only past six in the morning, did he eat his breakfast yet?
Not wasting time, she quickly made her and Alvaro's breakfast and arranged it on the table. She covered everything, making it her priority to look for him first.
She left the pancakes, bacon, eggs and toast on the table, the coffee also ready by the counter. She walked out of the kitchen, going straight to another hallway that she have not yet explored.
She passed a door, seeing an empty room inside. Her brows furrowed, what was this room supposed to be?
Shaking her head, she went back to the task at hand; finding her husband.
Another set of doors greeted her at the end of the hallway. This one looked quite big and dark.
Hearing nothing on the other side of the door, she gently knocked on the mahogany. Was he here? This looked like the last room in the house.
There was no reply to her knock, so she pushed the door quietly, expecting nothing. But inside, she saw her husband on the phone, facing outside.
This room, an office, was just as big as the master's bedroom. It was also overlooking a gorgeous backyard full of grass. She noticed that there wasn't much plants around. She listed it on her head, already planning to do so many things on her first day here.
Her eyes moved back to her husband who was still on the phone. Deciding to wait for him to turn around and notice her, she sat down on the brown leather sofa at the middle of the room. She noticed the books and files scattered around the bookshelves, a coffee machine at the other side. This office was also filled with only three colors.
But she felt like something was missing.
Genevieve realized that again, unlike her former home, this one didn't have plants inside. She lightly frowned, that was her third thing on her list.
'We need plants inside' she thought, her finger going straight to her mouth to nibble on it. 'We need it for fresh air. Can I repaint some places, too? What colors should I use? Should I go to the town square to buy paintings and vases? I don't think my money is enough.'
Lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice Alvaro ending his call and turning to her. His eyes scanned her form, particularly her lips where she had her finger in. Her lips were moving slight, initiating that she was talking to herself once again. Her upper lip biting into her lower lip was a sight to see.
Oh, what he would give to be able to bite her lips for her.
Clearing her thoughts, he walked towards his wife and stood before her. Still, she gave no sign of noticing him. She was still talking to herself, the gears on her head turning.
Alvaro notice her index finger and lower lips reddening from her nibbling, so, softly lifting his hand, his thumb made its way to her lower lip, pressing down gently.
She was so soft.
'Shit.' [Mierda]
It took everything in him not to kiss her there. Clearing his throat, he looked at Genevieve, who was now staring back at him.
Her face flushed, the colors of a tomato.
She was so fucking adorable.
Alvaro moved his thumb against her lips, her hand lowering to her lap. He caressed the soft heaven on his hands, enjoying the sensation her lips gave him.
Knowing that she went here for something, his deep voice sounded his question. "Did you need something, querida?" [Darling]
Her blush deepened. his voice was so deep and doing unknown things to him. He was just so intense.
"U-uhm..." she squeaked, clearing her throat before continuing "B-breakfast?"
Ah, so that's what.
He smirked down at her, watching her face turning redder. If that was even possible.
"Hmm. Si, el desayuno." he spoke, his mother tongue reaching her ears. [Yes, breakfast] "Vamonos, mi querida." [Let's go, my darling]
He was just like her Mama Emilia. Murmuring Spanish words here and there. She knew a bit of the language, but she can't comprehend long sentences. She understood what he said just now, though.
Ready to leave the office, a gasp left her mouth when Alvaro swiftly carried her in his arms. Her face reddened once more, stuttering a complaint but couldn't seem to get it out of her mouth.
Both her arms immediately went around his neck. She was surprised and thought she was going to fall to the floor.
His arms felt so big and strong against her hips and back. His chest bu her side felt so warm.
Her face was so close to his, too!
Her stuttering complaints fell deaf on his ears, his lips only smirking. He liked the feeling of her against his. So small and soft.
Leaving his home office, he carried Genevieve through the hallway and into the kitchen. His wife was muttering soft words but he couldn't understand a thing.
If she was insisting on putting her down, though, it wasn't happening.
This was her throne now.
In his arms.
