"She gave me the light I needed and pulled me from the dark. She gave me the love I needed and wiped off all my marks."

Genevieve slowly opened her eyes, the vivid sunlight from the room's window slightly blinding her eyes. She mewled and yawned, stretching her body. That was until she felt a heavy weight resting by her waist.

She slowly looked beside her, following the arm that was on her waist and to the body of the man it belonged to. There lay Mr. Alvaro.

Alvaro. Her husband.

A shy blush bloomed on her cheeks. It was her first time sleeping next to a man, let alone cuddling with one. She remembered how he embraced her before they slept. How he kissed her forehead and how nice it felt.

His lips were so warm against her skin.

'I wonder how his lips would feel like when I kiss him.'

The thought passed quickly in her mind, and quickly her eyes widened and she shook her head. 'No! No, Genevieve. You cannot take advantage of him like that!'

Gathering her dirty thoughts, she slowly lifted Alvaro's hands from her waist and set it down gently by the space that she left. Quickly getting up on her feet, she stood up, careful to not wake up the sleeping man.

She noticed how he felt around the bed with his arm. He was looking for her. A smile crept on her lips and she thought just how cute he is when sleeping.

There was no doubt that her husband was handsome. Even if he tends to frown more than he smiles, he still looked ravishing. From his soft hair, to his majestic face, and to his body. Compared to her, he looked like a giant.

She wondered how he could have been so handsome. He was so nice to look at. Like a beautiful painting created by a renowned artist.

She kneeled down by the side of his bed, leaning over to have a closer look. He was so hypnotizing. His eyelashes were so long, too. Longer than hers, if she was being honest. His nose was the perfect shape.

Genevieve's eyes went down to his lips. It was so red and so soft. Whenever he kissed her, she closes her eyes and drown in the feel of him.

How is he so perfect?

'When am I allowed to kiss him? Mama always kiss Papa on the lips. Can I?'

There goes her dirty thoughts again. She had to stop! This was so unlike her. Everything was so new, yet so pleasant.

It was the first time she had ever been with a man. She didn't have boyfriends, or boy friends. She stuck with girl friends during college, and she didn't have time to have fun like them when she was still in the local college community.

After her classes, she would go straight home to her Mama and Papa and help with the chores. Not once did she travel to the city to have fun.

But she didn't regret anything. The life in their barn and the life with her animals made it all so worth it.

She hasn't been away for a day and she was already missing her Mama and her pets. The house too. She missed the warmth and brightness of her previous home.

She remembered that she was going to ask Alvaro if she could make some changes in the house. Would he allow her to? Just some simple additions to their home, to make it more cozy.

She hoped he would agree.

She stood up, her stare lingering on her husbands face before she felt the urge to pee. It was time to prepare for the day.

Alvaro woke up to the sound of loud barking. It was the first thing that greeted him this morning. He opened his eyes and looked around his room, noticing that Genevieve wasn't here.

What time was it?

He stood up and went straight to the bathroom, showering and getting ready for the day. He wasn't planning on going to his company. He wanted to spend some time with his wife this weekend.

He'll finish whatever business he has to do on Monday. For now, Genevieve.

He went straight to the kitchen after, but he didn't see Genevieve there. Where was she?

Again, he heard the barking of the two dogs and looked back at the yard. There she was, with the two dogs playing around.

They were still stealing her attention away from him.

He shook his head and smiled. He was jealous of dogs, what a thought.

Taking small steps toward his wife, he reached her laughing form with a smile. She was showering the dogs and got her self and her dress wet.

He noticed how she liked wearing flow-y dresses with bright colors. The one's that he told his maid to buy were formal attires, and he didn't want Genevieve to be uncomfortable wearing those.

He just had to buy some new one's, then. Maybe they could even go shopping together.

"Having fun, querida?" [Darling] he asked, the smile not leaving his lips.

He smiled more in a day with her than his whole life. She was magnificent.

"Uh-huh!" she answered, nodding her head and with a big smile. She laughed while Marshmallow wiggled the water out of his furry body. She got more wet in the process, Alvaro too.

"Oh!" she noticed Alvaro getting wet because of the water "I'm sorry! Both of them are so playful."

He shook his head, telling her that it was fine. He could shower again later.

With her if she allowed to.

But he doubted it, it was too early. Maybe someday.

His thoughts were interrupted when a spray of water hit his stomach.

He looked at the source of the water, the hand holding the hose belonging to his precious wife. Who was now laughing with her head back, her right hand holding the hose while her left holding her stomach from laughing too hard.

There were tears in her eyes from laughing too.

It was his first time playing with water outside. He wasn't much of an active child in his younger years, but he couldn't find himself to be uncomfortable or pissed with her.

He could be mad with everyone else. But not her, never her.

She was still laughing, and he was influenced by her adorable giggles that he laughed too. He quickly reach over and grabbed the hose from her hands, hitting her in the stomach.

"Noooo!" she squealed, giggling while running away. She was trying so hard to avoid the water, even though she was soaking wet.

"Come here, amor. I think you need a bath." he smirked, chasing after her and running around the yard.

It was his first time doing something like this, but he was feeling fine. Not strange, not annoyed. Just cozy.

Who would've thought that running around soaking wet would bring him contentment.

He continued chasing after Genevieve, her squeals and giggles making him want to chase her more.

Then he realized, it wasn't the situation that was making him so happy. Not the running, not the dogs. Especially not the water.

It was her. Only her.

She was his light.

And he wasn't planning on going back to darkness soon.
