I locked eyes with Malachi before I bumped into someone. I turned around ready to apologize.

I went downstairs and entered the backyard. I went to the table my friends were and I sat down down next Alex.

I sank deeper into my chair as our friends talked and laughed. I felt his eyes on me and I looked at him.

Just then someone one took my hand. I looked down under the table and Alex was holding my hand.
