Chapter 52

Ellie's PoV~

A week later ~

"Mason will be fine El, don't worry" Ryan spoke gently patting on my head. I gave him a small sad smile, nodding my head. I hope so. It's been a week and he's still unconscious. Doctor said it's normal. His brain couldn't keep up with the pressure of the last few days. And I have to blame myself for that.

I don't know I think but It would be better for me to leave his life. He always kept putting himself in danger for me.

"Ellie?" Ryan's concerned voice brought me back to the world. "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes I'm okay" I let out a sighed.

"I don't think you're. You should go home and take rest. You haven't been sleeping for the last couple days, Ellie"

"I can't leave Mason here alone Ryan" I answered and stared at unconscious Mason.

"Me and Amara will look after him. You please go home and have some rest" He said. "Also kids are going crazy to see you. They miss you and Mason a lot"

"I don't know what to do anymore Ryan. It feels like my whole life messed up" I covered my face with my hands feeling like my whole world is falling apart. He let out a sighed and pulled me for a hug.

"They're not even aware that Mason is their father Ryan" I said. "How long am I gonna hide this from them?"

"They'll Ellie, when time will come" He replied back reassuring me. We pulled away and watched Amara walk towards us with a coffee in her hand.

"Have this Ellie. You'll feel good" She handed me the coffee.

"Thank you" I whispered.

"I'm here with Mason. You go home" She told me and checked on Mason. She kissed his head and sat down on the nearest sofa.

"I-"

"Just go. Have you seen yourself?" She insists crossing her arms over her chest. I looked at Ryan and he nodded his head agreeing with Amara.

I sighed before I had one sip of coffee. I guess I don't have any other choice.

After finishing Coffee. I last time checked on Mason and left the hospital.

Ring ring*

I took my phone out to watch Dad call me.

"Hii Dad-"

"Where are you right now? Give me the address" Dad cut me off taking me by surprised. His voice sounded like he was mad for some reasons.

"I'm coming home but what happened? Is everything alright?" I asked getting concerned.

"Yeah. I just got back in Italy. I'm coming to pick you up give me the address" He answered.

"That's great Dad" I smiled. "But it's okay I can-"

"You can't. You've 5 seconds young lady. Text me the address and don't you dare to move" that's all he said and hung up leaving me confused.

What's wrong with him?

I waited for 10 mins before Dad came to pick me up. During the whole car ride he didn't uttered a word. I won't lie if he wasn't looking scary since he was mad for something.

"Dad what's wrong with you?" I asked but no answer. His eyes were on the road. I rolled my eyes. "You got back after such a long time and you didn't even hug me"

He stopped the car in front of a fancy restaurant and took a deep breathe.

"Well, I heard everything, Rose" Dad finally spoke and looked at me. I kept looking at him without knowing what he was referring to.

"What?" I shrugged causing him to roll his eyes.

"About Mason" He completed.

"Can you give me that straight dad?"

He let out a sighed looking away from me.

"I won't let you ruin your life, Rose, no more" He said strictly. "You'll never be with Mason again. I will not allow this to happen"

His serious eyes never left mine.

I could think of nothing to say. I was just trying to understand what he said. What's wrong with him.

"Dad this is not you. I can't believe you're saying this" I replied back. "You were the one who always had Mason's back and now you're saying this rubbish?"

He stared at me for seconds before nodding.

"Yes. I'm saying this. Only for you young lady. I'm a father after all. I can't put my daughter life in any danger" He spoke. His voice slowly breaking. "I've got to keep my grandkids safe. I can't put them at risk either"

"You're just over thinking dad. Thi-"

"Yes, you might think this. But no matter what, I won't let you go back to Mason again" He strictly said. I pressed my lips together in disappointment, shaking my head, still unable to believe what he was saying. Is this that man? Who once told me not to leave Mason no matter what?

"Dad I'm leaving. I've to go back to hospital too" I was about to opened the door but he locked it. I looked back at Dad with confused. But he still has that neutral serious face.

"I just told you Rose. You're not going anywhere" He said.

"Dad-"

"We're taking my grandkids from the mansion, and tonight we'll fly to another country, far away from everyone"

I just stared at him with surprised.

"Please try to understand-"

"God Rose, I've understood everything. But you're not trying to get it. I want to see you happy. I want you to lead your life with peace and happiness with my grandchildren in another country"

"I'm happy dad. I'm really happy with Mason. I won't be able to live without him" I whispered holding his hand trying to reassure him. Dad looked away from me. His eyes watering.

"You're not. He keeps hurting you, and you keep forgiving him. You can tolerate this, but I'm a father, Rose. And I can't take this" He whispered cupping my face.

I closed my eyes letting the tears rolled down my cheeks.

"Mason will be safe, too. He keeps putting himself in danger for you always. I know it'll hurt and it will be hard to move on for you two, but after some time, everything will be alright again"

Deep down inside, I was realizing Dad's words were true.

"I want to see you walking down the aisle, looking so beautiful and happy, Rose. But I won't be able to see you heartbroken" He whispered. "Mason's life is full of danger and enemies. Also, his enemies are now your enemies"

"I'm getting older now. I don't know how long I will survive, and before I give out my last breath, I want to see you lead your life with a good man"

"Dad, please don't say this" I whispered.

"I've come with my final decision Rose" He paused for a second before continuing. "You're getting married"

My eyes got widened.

"But-"

"You've to choose between me and Mason. Now it's up to you. Think and give me an answer" Dad kissed my head before unlocking the door. I stared down not knowing what to do anymore. My brain wasn't working anymore. Why is my life so complicated?

"Let's eat something. I'm hungry" He said this and got out of the car as I leaned back in the seat, sucking in a deep breath.

Ring ring*

I looked down at my phone to see Ryan calling me. I cleared my throat and held the phone near my ear.

"Ellie Mason just woke up"

A smile made it's way across my face. I closed my eyes, feeling relieved and thanking God.

"I'm coming. Take care of him"

I whispered and looked over at Dad, who was already watching me. His eyes held warning. It felt like he already knew it was about Mason.
