The Big V Wattys2016
Blog #9:
I woke up this morning, got ready and was on time with everything. I decided not to straighten my hair to save time and I put in my nose ring to spice things up. After I packed my bag and said my goodbyes, I went to get in the car. When I put the key in the ignition it made a CRKKKKKK noise, so I knew I had to call Triple A when I got home. Nobody knows me enough to say, "Sure you can borrow my car." or "I'll drop you off." I started tearing up because I'm spoiled and I hate when things don't go my way. I tried to hurry and catch the tear before it smeared my eyeliner and stopped sulking when I remembered I had Ricky's number.
I was sitting on the front steps of Alpha Delta Phi, scrolling down my timeline on Twitter. A grey car pulled up and beeped the horn but it didn't register.
Ricky: "B!" His voice gave me the oils. It was so deep but soft, too. If that makes sense 😩.
B: "Stop yelling at me, I'm coming." I said getting off the steps, dragging my bag. I got in the car and slammed the door.
Ricky: "Good morning." he told me. His car smelled so good, like cologne. He was wearing a bucket hat and sweater with jeans and his forces. I put on my seat belt and plugged my phone into the AUX chord.
"Who told you you could do that?" he asked laughing. Commas by Future came on.
B: "Good morning. Thanks for picking me up and my music A1, stop trying to play me." he laughed.
Ricky: "I have classes in a half hour anyway. You need me to pick you up for your classes, too?"
B: "Yeah.. Why you being so nice to me? I know I hurt your feelings about the whole Jacob thing. And I'm sorry about your blue balls." We started laughing.
Ricky: "You was right, too. I should have defended you to Jake. How was your date?"
B: "Horrible. Let's not even discuss it." I said looking at my phone.
Ricky: "Sorry to hear that."
B: "No you not." I said laughing.
Ricky: "Well what you doing around 4:00?"
B: "Studying in the park."
Ricky: "Well I like to study. Let me study with you."
B: "Sounds like a plan." I said looking out the window. We were up the street from The Brew when he parked his car.
Ricky: "I'll take you to the store if you give me a kiss." I started laughing.
B: "Why do you always do this? I'm walking." I said laughing, opening the car door. I got out and started walking down the block as he drove slowly, holding up cars.
Ricky: "All of that instead of just kissing me?"
B: "Bye Ricky." I said waving, smiling.
I walked in a few minutes early and put my bag in my locker. Carly greeted me with a smile and said to grab an apron because I was serving tables. For 10 minutes I went back and forth serving frappacinos, lattes and coffees when I had to serve a blueberry muffin and orange juice to a gentleman in a bucket hat. Was he serious?! I walked to the back and it was Ricky.
He was on his phone and when I got to the table, I slammed his muffin down and started walking away. He ran in front of me and started pushing me towards the back by my hips. The back of the brew had tan walls that covered the left and right side, so Carly probably couldn't see us.
B: "I'm a waitress, I have tables to serve."
Ricky: "I know but just give me a kiss. If you don't feel anything then I won't come study with you later. I'll leave you alone." He pulled my body against his and we looked each other in the eyes. He put his hand behind my ear and put his tongue in my mouth. I couldn't take him seriously. I didn't want to. I don't like being vulnerable. I pulled away after a minute.
B: "Okay, I gotta go." I said leaving. He grabbed my hand softly.
Ricky: "So I'm gonna see you later, right?" He bit his lip.
B: "Yup." I walked from the back smiling and Carly walked toward me with an angry look on her face. "Hey Carly, wassup?"
Carly: "I need for you to not take so long. I like you, B. But if your not on your A-game from now on, you're fired. No more being late. Or taking forever to deliver a muffin."
She grabbed plates off an empty table and I walked away, rolling my eyes. After I finished my shift, Ricky was waiting for me right in front of The Brew. I ran to the car and got in the backseat.
Ricky: "Why you in the backseat?" He pulled off.
B: "I need to change, don't I?" I asked smiling. "Don't look." It was kind of chilly so I put on a black sweater and my jewelry. I saw him peeking in the mirror.
Ricky: "Nothing I haven't seen before." he said smiling. I sucked my teeth.
B: "You almost got me fired. I know you saw my boss going off as you left."
Ricky: "Maybe your boss just need some dick. Then you'll both be fine."
At a red light, I got in the front seat and reapplied my lipgloss.
Ricky: "Who you always trying to get cute for?"
B: "You."
We pulled up to campus and I went to my professor's seminar. It was so boring but I had to take notes. C's or below are unacceptable in college. I played with my pen that had pink fluffy hairs at the top, when I felt someone staring at me. I looked down a few rows and this white boy was staring me down with his eyes. And when people get caught staring, they usually look away. This guy didn't look away until 10 seconds later. Then he just looked at his phone like he wasn't just being creepy.
I left class and had only 2 more to go: my foreign language class (spanish) and designer's class, where they tell you what colors clash together, etc. I finally finished around 3:30 and as I exited the building, Nick caught the door.
Nick: "Just who I was looking for." he said, walking down the steps at my side. "Why haven't you returned any of my calls or texts?"
B: "Because you're not interested in me. Just my virginity and that is weird."
Nick: "So this doesn't have anything to do with that guy you and LaLa were at the buffet with?"
B: "What? You've been following me?" I stopped in my tracks and shoved my hand in his chest. He was really starting to creep me out.
Nick: "Let's just say I have people all over."
B: "It was one date and there will never be another one. Get over it. And don't bother coming to Alpha Delta Phi's obstacle course tomorrow!" I said walking away.
I was sitting at one of the tables in the park, studying. Ricky sat down in front of me and had his books. He was serious- a side of him I'd never seen before. He looked at the page number in my book and went to it in his, taking notes.
B: "What's your major?"
Ricky: "Business."
B: "So why you taking my notes on interior designing and measurements?"
Ricky: "I want to be here, but I don't need to take notes on my stuff because I know what I'm doing. But I don't want to distract you. I don't know, maybe I'll start an interior designing company."
B: "Sounds interesting." I smiled, using the calculator on my phone.
Ricky: "I want to get lunch. Let's go to a restaurant that's not on campus. My treat."
B: "Right now?"
Ricky: "Right now."
We grabbed our books and walked off together. He whispered in my ear about the girl sitting next to us, and how her tracks were showing. I started laughing - I swear he notices everything. A little too observant. The whole car ride there I was asleep and he didn't wake me up. With the planning of the obstacle course, classes and my social life, I really just needed to relax and rest.
When we pulled up to the restaurant he woke me up and held the door for me as we walked inside. The whole 10 minutes we waited to be shown to our table, I sat up under his arm with my head to his chest.
Ricky: "So how was senior year?"
B: "It was good. Parties. Prom. Basketball games. How was it for you?"
Ricky: "Parties. Prom. Football games. My grandma died." His grandma raised him- she was practically his mom.
B: "I'm so sorry. Why didn't you tell me? I would've been there for you."
Ricky: "I didn't want to burden you. Or anyone else; only person I told was Jacob."
B: "Burden me, how?"
Ricky: "I don't know, but... That's why I came to college. She always said I couldn't run the streets forever."
B: "She was so sweet." I held his hand until we were shown to our table.
It was a booth all the way in the back and I was so happy to be able to relax and not have to stress over anything. We looked at the menu, and I decided I wanted pasta while Ricky wanted buffalo wings. I lowkey did too but I also wanted to be lady like. When the waiter, Joe, came to take our order we asked for the drinks to come with our food.
Ricky: "Did you miss me?"
B: "I'm not gonna lie, a little bit."
Ricky: "I missed you a lot."
B: "Well how many bodies you have now?"
Ricky: "I'm not answering that."
B: "Why? It's gonna be worse if you don't tell me."
Ricky: "6."
B: "So you caught 2 bodies since junior year? That's not bad." I lied. His body count really bothers me- mostly because it wasn't me. Also because I'm inexperienced.
Ricky: "So you a sorority girl now?" He tried to change the subject.
B: "Yup. Alpha Delta Phi. Actually we're hosting a charity event tomorrow. Wanna be my date? The event is supposed to be very colorful with powder everywhere, like the Color Run."
Ricky: "Of course. It sounds fun but do I have to participate?"
B: "Umm, yes. So wear shorts and sneakers."
Our food and drinks came and then we decided we were probably getting dessert that we were going to split afterward. After we ate and talked about how his grandma was sick all the time, we ordered the Brownie Obsession. I picked up my spoon and he swashed it away with his, which made me laugh.
Ricky: "How you feel about me, B?"
B: "You make me feel safe. You're hilarious and I like that you making money. Independent."
Ricky: "So if I wasn't you wouldn't fuck with me?"
B: "I didn't say that. I just would prefer somebody that has they shit together. Independent and don't have to ask for handouts, thats all. If you was struggling would I stick by your side? If the head game was strong." I said.
Ricky: "You play too much. I know things didn't work out in high school but we adults now. I think we should give it another try."
I took another bite of the brownie and didn't respond to that. I wanted to be with him but I wanted to focus on school and money more.
B: "I'll think about it."
He brought me back home and as soon as I got here I had to start setting up for the obstacle course. I sat LaLa down as we made banners and posters, since we were helping out Alyssa's chapter. I told LaLa and the rest of Alyssa's chapter all about my day, and LaLa said she was happy I was giving Ricky another try, and to cuff him before someone else does.
Alyssa's chapter was supposed to be overseeing the event, making sure it was organized. A part of that was decorations like banners, posters, etc. Jamie's chapter had to make sure the beer would be there and all of the beer pugs were washed. There were many more jobs handed to each chapter and overall, Alpha Delta Phi was expecting around 200 student and the event lasted from 11:30 A.M. to 7 P.M.
Everyone was home helping out in some way. Alpha Delta Phi takes these events very seriously- what is sleep to them? It's almost 1:00 right now and I have no idea why I'm still awake. I'll fill you guys in tomorrow night if I get the chance/ not to drunk.
What do you think about B & Ricky's relationship so far? Do you think Nick will show up even though B told him not to? Comment, vote & follow me to keep reading more. Thanks for making it this far 😅
