The next few days were more stressful for us than we thought. We were finally in our new home. For all the love, I had no problem living in my childhood home, but I wanted to be alone with my family again. You shouldn't be in a confined space for so long with your family. 

So a lot of things were going on at the same time. The move, the Lion thing and the work, the new partner. I didn't know what was more stressful of the three. Luckily, Noah was working from home, so he was able to manage the move and help out in the house. Today I was going to meet with Simon and find his replacement for us, and Lion? I don't know. He hadn't been vaccinated. He had contacted Noah once and sent her a text saying I'm sorry. I hadn't forgiven him, what he did at the party was rubbish. His wife made it clear how ashamed she was of his behaviour. I had to confront him in a timely manner. I just wasn't ready. My focus was now my family and then my work. ,,Nick, do you know where the blue vase is? The one we got from Steve?" 

Noah was so in her element that it was fun to watch her. But I always have to slow her down every now and then because I don't want her to overdo it. I want her to slow down. ,,I have no idea. She's got to be somewhere. I'll help you find her later." Noah suddenly started crying. Hello Hormones. I walked over to her and hugged her. ,,Come on, honey. It's okay. Don't cry." My hand clasped the back of her head and she continued to cry. In good times and bad. I leaned forward to her and kissed her tears away. ,,How can I cheer you up?" Noah sobbed and looked at me intently. ,,I'd like goulash with pasta. Hungarian style. And then for dessert, apple pie with cream." Even better than her hormones are her cravings for food. Other than that, I like the constant sex. With the pregnancy and all the hormones in her body, she's just keen for sex. I don't complain. What more do I want? I get woken up in the morning by a woman kissing me awake. 

 ,,We can order dinner tonight? Anything you want and then we've already found our vase from Steve." Noah smiled again and looked around. ,,Where's Steve? Shouldn't he be with us today?" ,,Yeah. I sent him to the park with Andy and Maggie. Then you've got some time for yourself, and I can get to work." I was late. I had to go.

,,I've got to go, love. See you later. Be careful, yeah?" Noah nodded and gave me a kiss goodbye. I got in our Range Rover and drove to the firm. It was weird not having Steve or Alex with me. Alex was always with our parents and Maggie. Steve was with us, it made me crazy not knowing when and where Michael was going to strike.

When I got to the offices, there was a lot going on. People were all very excited and nervous. In a few minutes, I was going to meet Roger and get to know his replacement man. He had nothing but positive things to say about him. What I found out about him was all good. I don't hire anyone without enough background checks.

Arriving at my office, Simon and the new one were waiting for me. ,,Hi, Leister. Nice of you to come." 

We all shook hands and went into my office. ,,Can I offer you something? Water or coffee?" They both shook their heads and took their seats. ,,Nick, this is Christian Beck. He's going to take my seat." ,,I'm very pleased Mr. Leister." ,,I'm glad Roger found you. I've checked you out and you've got a good resume. No background, nothing. I hope we'll work well together." ,,I admire you, Mr Leister. At such a young age, you've taken over a whole empire and built it anew. I hope we'll do a good job."

I was a bit confused. I always listened to my instincts, but with Christian it was different. Somehow, I didn't trust him, but maybe that was my paranoia.
