the legitimate daughter doesn t care
When Lu Jinyou entered the door, he was still greeting a mob of fans whilst the team around him helped him block out the reporters.
He walked in quickly and halfway through, he looked at Xu Xinduo before he paused for a moment. Then, he turned to look at the people around him. Xu Xinduo saw some photos before and vaguely recognized that the person he was looking at was Qiao Nian.
The person who had once hurt Tong Yan.
Qiao Nian was stunned by the sight as he followed Lu Jinyou’s gaze that was directed towards Xu Xinduo.
Qiao Nian was also already a generally middle-aged adult as he was only three years older than Yin Hua. In addition, he had been in prison and went through a couple of hardships there. There was a sense of vicissitudes written on his face as there were also obvious signs of age.
A few strands of white hair dangled over his temples and there were thin creases forming at the corners of his eyes. Perhaps due to his non-smiling nature, the corners of his mouth were always pursed down, which also caused some lines to form on the corners of his mouth.
Lu Jinyou adjusted his expression and walked towards Xu Xinduo. He greeted her, “Young Master Tong, long time no see.”
They met before? Tong Yan never mentioned it.
After she started being with Tong Yan, she never saw Lu Jinyou.
How should I deal with this?
Xu Xinduo looked at Lu Jinyou, but it was in line with Tong Yan’s normal reaction. Lu Jinyou was fairly surprised that Tong Yan didn’t curse this time.
Lu Jinyou pointed to the elevator and said, “Would you like to go up and take a seat?”
Xu Xinduo glanced at Qiao Nian before she replied coldly, “I’m afraid I won’t be able to come out alive if I do.”
Lu Jinyou was not persistent as he sighed with a smile, “Sigh, alright then, goodbye. Do give my regards to Aunt Yin.”
After Lu Jinyou answered him, he took his team upstairs mightily.
Xu Xinduo continued to sit on the sofa. When she got bored, she looked at the sign in the lobby of the first floor to see what other companies were there and compared it to the floor that Lu Jinyou and his team went to.
Xu Xinduo took out her mobile phone and wanted to send a message to Tong Yan. But after thinking about it, she held back. She guessed that this was Tong Yan’s mood when he was back in the class.
She so desperately wanted to know the results, but she wasn’t allowed to interrupt.
While Xu Xinduo was waiting for Tong Yan, Qiao Nian walked out of the elevator alone and sat opposite of her.
Xu Xinduo was shocked the moment she saw Qiao Nian— how dare this person appear? Where did he get his courage from? How is he still so shameless?
Qiao Nian looked at Tong Yan after sitting down and said, “It left a scar? The tattoos look pretty good, though.”
Xu Xinduo was so angry that she held the armrest of the sofa tightly to prevent herself from hurting someone, but she still asked in a hoarse voice, “Would you like me to give you a good slash as well? You can get a tattoo then. Who knows, that might look nice for once.”
Qiao Nian raised his eyebrows as he pulled up his sleeves to show Xu Xinduo. He said, “What kind of saint do you think your father is? I gave you a cut, but he used the past few years to give me more than a dozen cuts. He had many methods under his belt— specifically torture. One scar was enough for me, but there were more…”
Qiao Nian was still laughing when he spoke, but it could be seen that he spent the past few years of his life suffering tragically in a state that was worse than death itself.
