So without further ado, the chapter-

A regrettable notion on his part, for what Justin had seen, he wished he could forget. He looked on in shock at Avalon settled, in the grass, at the trunk of a tree.

Not just that though as a boy of curly brown hair lay on her lap. She stroked blissfully through his hair; they looked into each other's eyes without a care in the world.

"When, Ava? I need to know." The boy urged, his voice strained. He sat up abruptly before putting a hand on Avalon's waist. Justin did his best to keep composure. He needed to hear this.

The boy spoke again.
"I don't wanna hide it from anyone. Your body belongs to me and I want to shout that at the top of my lungs." He murmured sweetly, pressing his lips to her neck.

Avalon giggled at this and that was when Justin broke. She pushed the boy away from her neck with a smile before taking ahold of his hand. Her voice was soft and sweet as she spoke, a tone that Justin had gotten familiar with hearing when she talked with Aaron.

"I know, I'm yours, Eli. Please, understand that, okay? I'm yours." She whispered before leaning in to kiss the boy. He kissed back feverishly before they both lay in the grass, facing each other. His hand was strewn across her waist and her hand rested on his face as she slowly caressed him.

How Avalon got into an affair with Elliot in the first place- Part 6

'Where are you? I'm at your house with medicine?'~ Aaron.

Run.

It was all Avalon  could do as she hurried through the streets, her handbag hitting against her torso as she did so. It was all she could do, knowing what was waiting for her at her house in the  middle of the night.

The Aaron Walker, her loyal boyfriend.

She had known he would come over to her house after the dinner and movie night, but she had never thought it would be this soon. It had barely been 3 hours when, usually, they would spend well past midnight in the company of their friends. Of course, Avalon should have known this would happen. Aaron had always, above all, prioritised her and her wellbeing. Knowing that, she should have known that he would give up on the friend's night if it meant he was with her. He would do it without hesitation and she let out a sigh of frustration as her heels clacked against the pavement.

In any other instance, she would have smiled at the sentiment; she would have iterated his actions to the student body the next day to procure the looks of envy that fed her happiness, but that day was not today. Today, all she could feel was frustration as she ran further away from eyes of innocent brown and a smile that lit up a room.

The memory of his hands on her and his lips so dangerously close were so vivid in her mind. And his words, she couldn't help but recall them as her heart rate picked up.

"I just see it so clearly- the way your face lights up when I compliment you like you've never heard words like that before and the way you're dismissing your beauty right now. That Aaron of yours is probably not giving you the affection you deserve and you're tolerating it." His voice was laced with agitation, his hand suddenly resting on her knee.

"If I was him, I would show you what you're worth everyday. If I had a beauty like you, I'd covet you every second so no one else could snatch you up. A gorgeous girl like you is much too stunning to settle for anything less." His words were a tantalising whisper, squeezing her thigh.

"Covet you? Ava, I'll do much more than that. I'll do all that Mr. Pretty boy is failing to do, so just take a leap of faith." He was whispering now too and his soft lips brushed over her in the most sinful way before he moved in deeper.

He had been so close. So close. And, then her phone had beeped and reality had set in. She had only now begun to realise that she had almost kissed Elliot and her hands clenched in tight fists as she ran through the cold wind. Regret is what she felt but, if she was to admit it to herself, it was not all due to the blue-eyed boy who awaited her at home like the doting man he was.

No,  it was something else entirely.

What she had wanted; what Avalon had always wanted was to be sought after. Attention commanded influence which commanded power, was what her mother had said and her words were entirely true. Avalon had captured many hearts and, with it, she had gained many resources. She never had to worry about sitting alone in a classroom because everyone wished to sit with her. She never had to worry about not completing work on time because her worried friends would swoop in and save the day. Even when high school was festered with nasty rumours, she was never the centre of it, no. She was seen as a figure of innocence, a beautiful damsel that had a gentle heart.

But, with this kiss, the gentle heart image was right out of the window. She had wanted Elliot's attention, yes, but she had never meant to give into it. She had found him attractive and his compliments had flustered her to no end, but she was only meant to smile innocently and dismiss his words without pushing him away. Now, she had shown him that she wanted him too and- in doing so- had shown a side that was far from innocent. She had showed him that she- a gentle heart- was capable of betraying her dutiful boyfriend and that is what she regretted. She only wished to keep him still enraptured, not too show him how she too wanted him. What was he to think of her now? All those years on building an image had so easily been tarnished by just the presence of one man? What was it to Elliot that had made her show this side of her that not even Aaron or Justin had seen?

Her thoughts of Elliot cut off just as she reached the door in which her mind turned more to panic. What would she say to Aaron, she thought as she put the key in hesitantly, turning it. She noticed her hands were shaking now, much like how they had when she had first started Redwood High, but this was for different reasons entirely. Back then, her hands had been trembling with anticipation and excitement. She had been elated to start her first day, walking right beside Justin whilst people fawned over him; she had been excited to incite Aaron's attention more after Justin had introduced them over the summer. Now, however, her hands trembled with nerves. Her legs were heavy as she walked into the bleak hallway, devoid of life. Her parents- to avoid each other- would never come home at all during the night, leaving her to her own devices. That was why she was often over at Justin's house, so that she wouldn't be alone with her own thoughts.

Now, her thoughts plagued her as she crept up the stairs, the wood making a loud creak as she travelled up. No doubt, he would hear it and she briefly wondered what she would say to him, but she reached the door before she could think of anything and she flinched as it suddenly opened, revealing him,

Aaron, in all his glory.

His ocean eyes pierced through her, his hair tickling his forehead and she watched as his gaze travelled her form: her rather dressy form. She writhed under his scrutinising gaze as he looked back up to her softly plaited hair. It seemed like an eternity before his eyes met her and she tensed as they did.

"Where have you been?" His voice broke through the silence, making her rigid. There was no scorn; no negativity to his tone, but that scared her all the more. She didn't know what he felt right at this minute and the uncertainty was what unnerved her as she forced a smile through all the tension.

"I was planning on staying in bed, but Dylan broke up with Vanessa again and she needed a shoulder to cry on. I couldn't leave a friend alone like that." Avalon spoke forlornly, sounding as though she was emotional for Vanessa, but she only felt nervous for her own plight at this moment in time. It was silent for a moment then as she looked up to him with innocent eyes and he merely stared at her. She tried to keep her composure, feeling her cheeks heat as he watched her. Then, in a mere second, he pursed his lips, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Can you not put yourself first for once?" He murmured and it took her a moment to process before she let out a sigh of relief. In that moment, Aaron had stepped closer to her, taking her up within her arms and she collapsed into him, mentally exhausted at how nervous she had felt in that moment in time. His cologne and natural musky scent washed over her as his hands caressed her waist, making her shiver at the feel of his long fingers.

"She's my friend and she needed me." Avalon explained gently, but this time her tone was more confident. Aaron had believed her without question and she felt her whole body relax as he rocked them as though he was lulling them to sleep, hands drawing patterns against her lower back. If she hadn't mistook it, he had drawn her initials.

"And, I need you more than I need breath, does that matter to you? I was so worried about you the whole time during the dinner, I left before dessert." He argued in a warm but aggressive tone that made her smile as she pulled back. He looked to her lovingly in a way that she loved so vehemently and she lay her hands flat against his chest. He placed his over hers as she looked to him with a frown.

"I wish you didn't cut your evening short for me; you should still be able to enjoy yourself." She whined and he raised an eyebrow at this, drawing her closer with an arm around her waist.

"Do you think there's anything more enjoyable than being in bed with you right now?" He asked playfully, making her giggle as she slapped her hand against his chest.

"You're too much, Aaron!" She responded and then, without warning, he lifted her off the ground, bridal style, making her squeal. Her arms instinctively wrapped around his shoulders and then her eyes were locked with his, too transfixed by his beauty. She hated to admit, but his looks were out of this world in ways she couldn't fathom, along with Justin's and she couldn't help but go speechless as he looked down at her with an intensity that scared her almost.

"I am too much, but only for you; I'll be whatever you want me to be." He drawled with a conviction and heat that ran through every fibre of her being. He wasn't lying; she could tell that for lying was something she had become so masterful at. No, he was telling her his truth and she smiled. As she had said, attention brought influence.

"Oh? You care for me that much, huh?" She teased and his smile lit up in a way that would have made any girl go weak at the knees; it just lacked a certain innocent, is all.

"Why don't I just show you?" He murmured suggestively and then he was moving towards the bed, making her giggle as he peppered her with kisses, her body heating under his touch. With each kiss, it reminded her of Elliot's almost kiss and she couldn't help but feel nervous for the next school day. What would become of hers and Eliot's relationship now that he had almost kissed her? Would he spill her secret or would he fully pursue her?

She had to get to the bottom of this and, for that, she'd have to see him again.
