So without further ado, the chapter-
A regrettable notion on his part, for what Justin had seen, he wished he could forget. He looked on in shock at Avalon settled, in the grass, at the trunk of a tree.
Not just that though as a boy of curly brown hair lay on her lap. She stroked blissfully through his hair; they looked into each other's eyes without a care in the world.
"When, Ava? I need to know." The boy urged, his voice strained. He sat up abruptly before putting a hand on Avalon's waist. Justin did his best to keep composure. He needed to hear this.
The boy spoke again.
"I don't wanna hide it from anyone. Your body belongs to me and I want to shout that at the top of my lungs." He murmured sweetly, pressing his lips to her neck.
Avalon giggled at this and that was when Justin broke. She pushed the boy away from her neck with a smile before taking ahold of his hand. Her voice was soft and sweet as she spoke, a tone that Justin had gotten familiar with hearing when she talked with Aaron.
"I know, I'm yours, Eli. Please, understand that, okay? I'm yours." She whispered before leaning in to kiss the boy. He kissed back feverishly before they both lay in the grass, facing each other. His hand was strewn across her waist and her hand rested on his face as she slowly caressed him.
How Avalon got into an affair with Elliot in the first place- Part 5

3...
Each step that she took from the uber to his house moved in accordance to her pounding heart. She didn't know why she was nervous nor did she know why she couldn't keep the smile off her face.
Perhaps it was because this was the only man that had ever truly seen her as though she was a deity, someone who saw her as a goddess with no comparison. Or perhaps it was because it was nice to- for once- not be under the large shadow that Aaron's presence had cast. She was coming to realise that it was not her that was the sun for their friend group but, rather, Aaron who the group centred around. All the boys looked to him in awe and despite Raven being her closest girl friend, Raven still confided her issues in Aaron, not her. And although she had known Justin from birth, she could see the bond he and Aaron had; it scared her to think that this bond would grow stronger than theirs.
She loved Aaron; he was a gorgeous man of her calibre and people looked on them in envy. Avalon was one to sought out the best and she achieved just that with this relationship. She was content with that.
But, still, there was a niggling part of her that felt something else entirely. It wasn't resentment, but it was close to it and it festered and petrified until all Avalon could feel was a gnawing sense of inferiority in his presence. She was good, but he was better and she hated it with every fibre of her being. Second place wasn't for her.
So, perhaps that's why she felt excitement as she walked through his lawn towards his door. She knocked gently, not wanting even to give off any essence of eagerness as she gingerly stroked down the hem of her floral dress. She had deliberated long and hard on what to wear and finally settled on the innocent aesthetic, her golden hair in a messy plait, leaving soft tendrils framing her face. Aaron always went crazy for this look.
The door opened then before she could give more thought to the blue-eyed boy and then she was faced with the man that had plagued her mind.
Elliot.
He was wearing a simple, graphic t-shirf with joggers, his curls shining in the soft hue of the house light and Avalon couldn't help but smile at the simple yet fitting look. He returned her smile to a much wider degree, letting out a dramatic blow of air as he shook his head.
"If I knew you were gonna look this good then I'd have thrown something better on." He muttered more to himself but she heard him, smiling at the immediate praise. It hadn't even been 10 seconds and he was already looking at her in awe. She shook her head at his words with a soft laugh.
"You're too much, Elliot. I just threw it on." She lied with the smoothness of silk- just as soft and airy; just as glamorous.
"Just threw it on? Save some natural beauty for the rest of the girls, why don't you?" He joked, allowing her entry into the house and she laughed yet again, feeling the warmth fill her at his words. There was something about how he dismissed all other girls just to praise her that made her feel worshipped and appreciated. Aaron had never once compared her to another girl and he had called Raven beautiful many times when asked about her. It irked her, his false niceties to please everyone around him so they'd still adore him. Of course, if he had found Raven beautiful in the slightest then he would have gone for her, but that wasn't the case. There was no need to protect Raven's feelings; she was a strong girl and would be able to bear it if Aaron had told her the truth. Raven was an amazing and loyal friend, but she lacked the delicate features that men tended to go for- the big eyes and small button noses, she didn't have those things. She had a sharpness to her face that, perhaps, intimidated many men and Avalon knew Aaron. He wasn't fond of such features; he was more partial to her soft features and gentle aura. Avalon was kind, coy and all things feminine. That was what he desired.
"So, my parents are out for dinner with my kid brother, so we shouldn't be interrupted with the assignment." Elliot spoke as he shut the door and Avalon couldn't tell if he was saying it to explain or as a suggestive comment. Nevertheless, she held her cards close to her chest, smiling at his words as she looked around.
"Well, if I ever have the chance to meet your parents, I'll compliment them on their beautiful home." She replied and Elliot's smile widened at this as he fixated his gaze on her.
"Even if you miss them today, I'll bring you back to me another time so don't sweat it." He said, staring at her as though she was an antique: a rare gem that he wouldn't let go and it made a tingle run down her spine. He saw her for what she was and she adored it. Still, she wouldn't show him this; once men saw a woman's interest, they were quick to lessen their efforts, her mother had told her that.
"Of course, if we don't finish the assignment then we may have to meet up again." She gave nothing away with her response, but her tone had a light lilt of suggestive undertones to it that could be interpreted as one wished. She'd allow him the slightest sliver of hope to keep him here, that would be enough.
"If that's the case then I'll let you know now that I am a slow, slow worker." He drawled back, words deliberate and then he was leading her towards the dining table before she could even process how she felt.
"I've got my books and laptop already set up since four hours ago." He admitted as she sat and she watched as he stroked a hand against his nape. It was what Aaron did too when he was nervous yet both came across in different ways. Whilst Elliott looked nervous to be with her, in her glorious presence, Aaron's came off as more of a modesty for modesty's sake. It was though the false bashfulness just added to his aura, making him look more humble. She decided she liked Elliots more.
In fact, throughout the whole few hours they worked together, she couldn't help but draw lines and connections towards Aaron. They were so starkly different in the way they looked and behaved. Even the way that Elliot was showering her with compliment after compliment as they did the work. When Aaron did that, she couldn't help but feel as though those compliments were from a place of pity. When a more beautiful person tells you you're pretty, is it just a pity praise to ensure you don't feel too inferior? That's what he was doing, Avalon thought. She would know as she did it to many girls like Raven or Vansssa.
With Elliot, however, his compliments felt so genuine. He truly meant it when he said that he had never seen anyone so beautiful when they were concentrating. It was so genuine that she couldn't help but scoff.
"You haven't seen many people yet, new kid. Your mind could still change." She answered jokingly but it hid the truth behind it. The truth that undoubtedly plagued her: that Aaron was more beautiful. Hell, even Justin was better looking and it was something that she still had yet to come to terms with. Her mother had said that beauty was the key that unlocked all doors. If you were the prettiest in the room, it commanded people's attention; made them feel inferior to the extent that they could be easily influenced. And, that's how Avalon had played it. She had always been popular with everyone and well liked by boys. She hadn't ever had to try for anything and that was because her looks commanded it. Yet, in Redwood High, that wasn't the case. She wasn't the one that commanded attention and nor was she the one who influenced. It was the trio and she was a supporting character in their story. That was all.
"I could see the whole damn universe and I don't think I'd find anyone to compare to you." Elliot's sudden words made her still for a moment and she looked to him, only finding utmost sincerity in his gaze. He truly meant it and she couldn't help but show a sliver of her insecurity for the first time.
"Well, we'll see how you feel once you see everyone and then you can make a well-thought decision." She said again, trying to be jovial but there was a sad undertone to her voice. There was a small silence then as he just looked at her, sitting back in the chair he was in. Then, after what seemed like eternity, he spoke.
"He doesn't show you your true value then if you don't feel like you're the prettiest girl on earth." He said suddenly and Avalon tensed at the mention of him.
Aaron.
They hadn't spoken about him for the whole few hours she had been here, despite Elliot having seen them kiss. She hadn't thought he'd bring it up either and, yet, he did. She was on dangerous and unfamiliar territory now and she didn't know how to take it. She was always seen as graceful and impartial, so Elliot badmouthing her boyfriend whilst she just listened wouldn't be something that would bode well or consistently with that image. So, instead, she shook her head softly despite agreeing with him internally.
"No... Aaron is..." She didn't know what else to say so her voice teetered off weakly as Elliot looked at her expectantly, folding his arms.
"He's what?" He challenged yet again and Avalon sat dumbstruck, not knowing how to answer the sudden questions. At this,Elliot huffed, rubbing a hand down his face in frustration. It was a moment before he spoke again.
"I just see it so clearly- the way your face lights up when I compliment you like you've never heard words like that before and the way you're dismissing your beauty right now. That Aaron of yours is probably not giving you the affection you deserve and you're tolerating it." He spoke, voice laced with agitation as he looked to Avalon with a fondness like she was the last diamond on the planet. His eyes brushed over her once then twice before his lips quirked up and she could only watch as he edged a bit closer, his hand suddenly resting on her knee.
"If I was him, I would show you what you're worth everyday. If I had a beauty like you, I'd covet you every second so no one else could snatch you up. A gorgeous girl like you is much too stunning to settle for anything less." His words were a tantalising whisper and she sucked in a breath as his hand caressed higher up her leg until he was squeezing her thigh.
"You.. you'd covet me?" Her words were but a whisper of hope, loving all the words he said to her. He knew what she lacked in life and, here he was, offering it, his lips quirking up into a small smile as his face edged closer.
"Covet you? Ava, I'll do much more than that. I'll do all that Mr. Pretty boy is failing to do, so just take a leap of faith." He was whispering now too and she could feel her own body leaning into before their mouths would collide. His soft lips brushed over her in the most sinful way before he moved in deeper, but her phone began beeping before it could escalate and she moved away from him as though she was struck by a hot poker, chest heaving with the adrenaline.
She didn't even look to him then as she turned her shaky body to her phone and the text message she received only made her adrenaline levels increase, her heart raging in her chest.
'Where are you? I'm at your house with medicine?'~ Aaron.
Oh shit.
